Great Festivals to Incorporate into your Travel Incentive Trip

Great Festivals to Incorporate into your Travel Incentive Trip

Are you looking for a travel incentive trip with a difference? Traditional festivals are a brilliant way for your employees to tick off a bucket-list experience whilst incorporating a fun, cultural event, which will stay etched in their memory for a long time after they return home.

Here are Neon’s favourite festivals to include in a travel incentive trip.

Rio de Janeiro Carnival, Brazil – March

Rio de Janeiro Carnival is iconic. It’s the biggest carnival in the world and entices around two million people per day to party like a local on the streets of Rio.

Held every year just before Lent, Rio Carnival is a kaleidoscope of flamboyant floats, exuberant costumes and talented samba dancers. It’s an attack on the senses but in the best way possible and showcases the core of Brazil’s vivacious culture.

Combine partying at Rio Carnival with a visit to one of the Seven Wonders of the World - the Christ of the Redeemer - and you’ll have ticked off two major bucket list experiences for your employees in one incentive trip. If this doesn’t ensure they hit and exceed their targets to secure their spot on the plane, we don’t know what will...

Holi, India - March

Holi is a very well renowned Hindu festival, which is celebrated on the day after the full moon in March.

Also known as the ‘festival of colours’, Holi honours the end of winter and the victory of good over evil. It is celebrated across India and the rest of the world with the throwing of multi-coloured powder, lively Bollywood music, dancing and food. Eclectic, vibrant and energetic are just a few of the words to describe this unmissable festival, which truly encapsulates the contagious energy of Indian culture.

Integrating the Holi Festival into your travel incentive trip to India is bound to be an instant stand out selling point for your employees to motivate them to make sales and would also complement an engaging and powerful communications plan excellently.

Songkran, Thailand - April

Songkran is an important event on the Buddhist calendar that celebrates the Thai New Year. Falling on 13th-15th April every year, Songkran tends to take place on some of the hottest days of the year and is celebrated with the world’s biggest water fight.

The most prevalent celebration of Songkran is in Chiang Mai in the North of Thailand where crowds of people roam the streets throwing water over each other. Using everything from water guns and buckets to hoses and elephants to throw the water, there is no festival quite like this one.

Combine Songkran with the outstanding food and beaches of Thailand and your travel incentive trip will be a unique and memorable experience worth fighting for.

Oktoberfest, Germany - October

Oktoberfest is the largest beer festival in the world. With over six million people from around the world attending every year, it’s a must do at least once in your lifetime.

Although Oktoberfest is celebrated across the whole of Bavaria, the biggest celebration is in Munich.

Envision - traditional Bavarian outfits, stein upon stein of beer, local music, fair rides and hundreds of stalls selling German cuisine. Oktoberfest is a carnival-esque experience injected with all the German stereotypes you could imagine, making it an ideal festival to add into your travel incentive trip.
