Travel Daydreaming: Where The Neon Team Can't Wait to Visit!

Do you miss travel?

As an agency that runs travel incentives for our clients throughout the year, it’s safe to say we most certainly do!

Like everyone else in the world, we’ve had to postpone both client incentives and our own holidays and have taken solace in daydreaming and talking about all the places we’ve been to and all the places we can’t wait to visit as soon we’re allowed.

Here are the places some of our team are currently dreaming of. We apologise in advance for the impending wanderlust…

Hattie, Head of Performance Improvement - Mauritius

‘After reading from our local ground agent that there have been no recorded cases of Covid-19 since 26th April in Mauritius, I was excited! Could we be inching closer to a magical beach incentive soon? We all deserve one!

I’ve been dreaming of the beautiful Belle Mare Hotel, tucked away on a stretch of the island’s eastern coast. I have had the luxury of visiting twice - on a familiarisation trip and with a group in 2018. The unspoiled sweep of powder soft sand, clear waters and coconut palms swaying gently in the breeze could definitely tempt me back again!

The Lux owned property boasts the island’s largest swimming pool and is an idyllic spot for lounging and mingling, gently buzzing by day and waking to Balearic beats by night. There are so many activities on offer, all available exclusively. From private cinema nights and golf to your own ice cream parlour and the spa. Beyond the beach, awaits an abundance of sea life in the lagoon, being home to many dolphins’!

Ciaran, Product Executive - Paros, Greece

'My girlfriend has family in Greece near lots of excellent vineyards on Paros. We were planning on visiting and staying near there this summer.

Beautiful crystal clear Mediterranean ocean, loads of Greek heritage, colourful traditional villages and most importantly, a lovely little harbour with restaurants and bars to enjoy a leisurely afternoon. I can't wait to visit'.

Ollie, Account Director - Marrakesh, Morocco

'Over the past few weeks I've been reminiscing of my time in Marrakech last year - specifically of the Kasbah Tamadot Hotel - a place that offers the height of luxury!

From the minute you arrive at the hotel, this property brings a calm aura and a sense of tranquillity. Staying at this hotel was part of an incentive I organised and ran, which had us arriving into the heart of Marrakesh city and then onto the Atlas Mountains.

After a couple of days visiting the bustling city; exploring the souks, Hammam and Jardin Majorelle, we took a gentle drive into the stunning foothills of the high Atlas Mountains. This evolved into an exhilarating off road convoy experience in 4x4s before stopping for a secluded lunch. We ended the trip with our final few days at Richard Branson’s property, The Kasbah Tamadot; amazing food, exclusive experiences and above all time, to relax.

We had planned this unforgettable experience for sales professionals who had worked so hard to secure their places on the trip. The happy faces, extremely positive feedback when we were home and the enjoyment had by all was what made this trip so fantastic'.

Ashleigh, Account Manager - Napa Valley, California

‘I would LOVE to go back to Napa Valley, California. I took an incentive group to this wine region a few years ago and we stayed in the very exclusive Calistoga Ranch.

I’m currently dreaming of eating their buttermilk pancakes on the deck for breakfast, followed by a lazy morning relaxing at the amazing pool and then an afternoon of hopping between vineyards and tasting delicious wines in the valley. Heaven’!

Maisie, Junior Account Executive - Val D'Isere, France

‘Is there a better feeling than sitting in the sun, surrounded by all your friends with a cold beer in your hand after a full day of skiing? Absolutely not!

I don’t think many holidays can offer you a mix of sun, snow, sport AND parties all wrapped in one. That’s why I am currently daydreaming of my annual ski trip whilst I’m in lockdown!

Nothing quite beats a skiing holiday. The breath taking views and the opportunity to meet people from all over the world whilst doing something you love! I am counting down the days until I can be back out in Val D’Isere, racing my friends down the crisp white mountains, with Mont Blanc on my right and my favourite après bar on my left’.

Lydia, Account Executive - Cape Town, South Africa

‘What I would do to be currently sat in a vineyard in South Africa sipping on a crisp glass of cold white wine and grazing on a cheese board…

I’ve now travelled to South Africa twice – the first time on a trip with my Mum and Sister and the second time on an incentive trip with 23 couples for one of our agricultural clients - it’s a destination I can never see myself tiring of.

The scenery, wildlife, food, wine and value for money are second to none and the unique experiences we were able to offer our client when we were out there were just unforgettable. We stayed exclusively at Richard Branson’s Mont Rochelle Hotel in the wine region of Franschhoek for the first two nights of the trip and the iconic Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town for the final two nights.

We organised vintage cars to drive our guests to an exclusive restaurant suspended over rolling vineyards, side cars to drive each couple along the scenic Chapman’s Peak Drive and plied them with enough quality food and wine to have them grinning from ear to ear for the entirety of the trip – it’s an event I know I will never forget helping to run and one I know the guests won’t forget either – mostly because they continually told me so’!

Martin, Senior Account Manager - Mykonos, Greece

‘We were planning on going to Greece this autumn. There is still a lot of sunshine in September and a holiday can actually be kept to a really reasonable price, which is great with the two new additions to our family (we’ve just had twins)!

I went to Mykonos with a Swiss client last year and was amazed by the crystal-clear waters and golden sands. The white-washed houses of Greece are just one of many alluring aspects of visiting a place like Mykonos and is why I can’t wait to go back - whether it’s this autumn or next year’.

Carol, Finance Director - Maasai Mara, Kenya

‘I’ve been daydreaming about sitting on the deck at the Angama Hotel in the Maasai Mara, Kenya watching the wildlife go by. We put this up for a destination for an incentive and I was fortunate enough to get a deal and went although the trip did not happen.

It was the most amazing place to stay and the landscape views and wildlife roaming freely across the plains were breath taking’.
